ANSWER

D) Suicide.  A 1994-1996 study conducted in the UK showed that 10% of maternal deaths were due to suicide, the largest single cause of postpartum deaths.  Here is an article from NEJM worth reading (NEJM, 7/31/08, pg. 509).

Nitroglycerin is contraindicated after use of sildenafil within the previous 24 hours or tadalafil within 48 hours See ACC/AHA Guidelines here.

Why does the urine of patients who have ingested ethylene glycol fluoresce when exposed to ultraviolet light?

Fluorescein is added to antifreeze to aid in the detection of radiator leaks in vehicles.  The fluorescence of urine under ultraviolet light may aid in the early identification of ethylene glycol poisoning.  Check out these two articles: Article 1 and Article 2

Should the treatment of upper extremity DVT differ from lower extremity DVT?

Even though controversy exists about the rate of pulmonary embolism seen with upper and lower extremity DVT, current recommendations are that upper extremity DVT should be treated similarly to lower extremity DVT.  Click HERE for article.  (Am J of Med 2007;120:678).
